Many of us have had days when we just don't feel like getting up and going through yet another eight or twelve hour workday. We are not physically sick but just have an off day.
I would never do such a thing, but how often do some of you call in sick when you really weren't just to relax and do other things?
I don't. We have generic PTO and if I start to get a "I don't feel like working" moment, I just plan for a day of PTO later in the week and enjoy a me day.

I enjoy my work, and have never called in sick when not sick, in fact in 8 years have only been sick and called in 2-3 times.
We get plenty of PTO, right now I have about 6 weeks on the books, so if I want a day off I can just say "I'm staying home tomorrow" and take a day of PTO. If I wake up and just don't feel like working that day, so far I still have the self-discipline to overcome it and go in.
Once in 30 years did I do this. I was coming back from a vacation and there was flight delay/cancellations due to snow and had no other alternative.
I agree with santafe that this thread is not representative of the general working population.
We had a generous sick policy and some took that as extra vacation days that did not require notice. Then when they actually got sick complained they were out of sick time.
Being reliable still counts. Being ethical and honest counts too.
Don’t BS in work situations unless you really don’t care. People always figure it out.
If you don’t care enough to have good attendance then it’s probably time to change jobs or careers.
