Good morning, Mary!

What I hate is the way their courtesy level starts dropping as you go along in the process!

1) they call you/email you and act very professional and very polite. "We're looking forward to meeting you. We were very impressed with your resume.." We are setting up interviews and will be in touch.

YOU NEVER HEAR FROM THEM AGAIN for any interview...(I'd rather they just didn't contact me at all..)

OR:

2) you go to the interview and they are still somewhat nice. They talk about you fitting in, you discuss what you can do...

3) they say we'll be in touch. (Sometimes they are nice other times it's okay bye..)

4) you never hear from them again or you get some 'vague lame letter' about 'someone who is a better fit' (their cousin's best friend? The inside person?)... or you hear nothing...

Funny, I went from an exciting professional person they were excited to me to some 'nobody' they can't be bothered to treat in a proper manner.

No, wait, let me see, because I 'twitched' 2 times and blinked once during the interview, the almighty person got annoyed with me so that voided them acting civil to me...

It's all a b.s. game..

Personally, if I had 3 wishes, one of them would be to see some of these 'professionals' lose THEIR jobs then be able to follow them as they 'bluffed their way' into something else.

The only ones who send the letters out are the state, and county jobs. I'm looking for work right now and at least they have been courteous enough to send me a letter either telling me the position has been filled - and also reminding me to keep applying since other positions will open up, or telling me I didn't qualify for the position because lack of whatever experience or education that was needed for it.

Other then them, all the private sector jobs - nothing. I went to three interviews and was told when they'd make their decision - and nothing. Just not getting the phone call by the day they said was I guess "enough" to know...

The best feedback I got so far in the year I have been looking was from someone who was a principal at a school I interviewed at. The man took the time to talk to me about my skills and how I did..(fine, they just hired someone else).

Even though I was upset not to get the job, he was kind enough to give me personal feedback because he respected my education and degrees and experience.

Sometimes, I have discovered in this heinous process, they just pick someone else. It doesn't mean you or the other dozen people 'suck' or 'made weird faces' or 'jiggled their feet too much' or whatever our HR 'professionals' (Tokyo Roses of the boards) will have you think.

Hi, Gypsy!

Guess I just surfed the night away!

Ok, EEOC is NOT our friend! Before they muddied the waters, it was a lot easier, they could just say what they wanted and not waste everyone's time!
