I've never heard of Wal-mart calling one person every day. He gets that lucky he should go with them. They usually have so many applicants that they move on from one person rather quickly.
They are both terrible choices. Are you saying that you have a BA in Art History, and this is the best you can do?
Either this is a made up, anti liberal arts and higher education thread, or you do not know much about your field.
My son graduated Magna *** Laude, with a BA in art, and he is working in his field as a curator in a museum. He is also looking at graduate school.
I also think that you should seek counseling.
There are ways to break leases. I think you would be better off living with your mother.
Forget Walmart, Mc Donalds and Taco Bell.
Exactly, there are tons of options better than Walmart and Mcdonalds like customer service at a cable company or cell phone store. Front desk security or customer service rep at a hospital. Not sure why he is so stuck on fast food and Walmart
Every day I get called by a hiring manager from Walmart. Despite not being able to find any work at all and, with an Art History degree, no feasible career path it’s still hard for me to bite the bullet and answer their calls. Walmart sounds like a terrible place to work.
I’ve unsuccesfully looked for an entry level office job for five months and was even rejected from an unpaid internship in the same field as my last position. Looks like I’m starting again from the bottom.
To walk you through my resume, I never work in high school or college, and it took me a year after getting my BA with honors to find a job delivering pizza. I quit after three months and a year later spent six months washing dishes. Then I miraculously found a job related to my major, even though at this point I no longer cared to do anything with it. I just needed a job, period. After a year and a half I quit following a mental health breakdown and have been unemployed the past ten months.
I have been financially cut off and am stuck in a lease. I dropped my health insurance. The walls are closing in. Should I work at Taco Bell, McDonald’s, etc? Is it better than Walmart? Can you describe the difference in working in a large retail store or a fast food restaurant for me?
Once my lease is up I plan on moving back in with my mom out of state, so I just need to get by for a while.

What do you mean you plan on moving back to your Mother’s house? You’re a grown ass man aren’t you? Nobody is responsible for you but YOU. Go out and get three jobs if that’s what it takes to meet your obligations. It’s no one’s fault but your own that you chose to acquire a worthless degree. What were you thinking?
Your poor Mother does not deserve to be in the position of taking care of you. Pick yourself up man and get out there and get a job. Who cares if it’s McDonald’s or Walmart? Work at both of them and earn your own way in this world. That’s what the rest of us had to do! I worked a 50 hour job Monday thru Friday and 20-24 hours on the weekend when I got out of school. I did that for two solid years just to get ahead. Why can’t you?
I had the impression OP is just looking for a quick solution to needing money, some sort of min wage job to hold them over while they try to get themselves back on track. Hopefully the long term plan is to use the degree in securing a job more geared to their interest, not looking towards Walmart or MickeyD as a career opportunity.

Walmart....You may not hate it. If the salary is the same. You also might have more options and variety of dept. to choose to work....where at a food place you may be stuck in one position.
Otherwise....try to get into a temp agency....if you can get in good....and have skills they can utilize you could work a lot....it will get you by til you get out of your lease. How long is your lease? If it makes more sense to bail and go home....I'd do that.
Check out his past posts. He is simultaneously one of the most intriguing and infuriating people I've seen on these forums.
In past threads he has laid out these conveniently impossible scenarios and then asked for advice on how to handle them. Now, to be fair; the scenarios have consistent and reoccurring themes in them. So I believe he is telling the truth and not trolling.
But, I think he is here more to pick fights, seek attention, and show how 'hard' his life is without actually taking any advice from anybody. If you read some past threads you'll see some of his difficulties are self inflicted and smack of inexperienced youth who has always ignored advice.
Now. I am posting this opinion on the main thread page instead of PMing because I am hoping that Mr. Maggie will read it.
To Mr. Maggie, Sir, you have been offered advice on all of your personal woes. After reading all of your threads I now know more about you than I do my own kids. You need to act and stop complaining. Take both jobs. Take more. Apply to administrative assistant jobs. Those will hire Bachelors holders in a heartbeat. Dress nice and announce your legal name to the interviewer with pride (I know your name was one issue that you were having recently). Talk about your ability to think outside the box and use your personal life choices as an example.
got a car?..get a job delivering newspapers..probably pays just as much as either one of those two jobs you mentioned..and way less hours..and no bosses to put up with..
I truly don't know which is better, but I will say that throughout the years, I've known of 4 people who've worked for various Walmarts w/ NOTHING good to say & 2 of those people got majorly screwed. 1 sued them...never know the outcome. Another got let go for some set-up, suspicious-type reason.
My daughter had 2 bad experiences with 2 Walmarts, one 20 minutes away. Once a manager doesn't like you, they will go out of their way to make sure someone in another store doesn't like you.
For the OP since his trust fund has been cut off, Walmart is the least of all evils. He won't know till he tries.

I've seen a few of his threads. I agree he doesn't seem to take any advice. He's just so down on himself which is going to get him nowhere fast.
