My boss? Never. We've had a lot of organizational changes over the past year or so and I ended up under someone who really sticks up for the team and also looks out for our interests. In turn, I always vouch for and support her.
There are internal customers and definitely some vendors that make me want to scream on a weekly basis.
I'm pretty good at wearing a fake smile when I'm being dealing with BS from someone at work and not letting on that I really think that person is an $&@hole or an idiot.
On nearly a daily basis, I find myself thinking "go $&@* yourself buddy" or "shut up please!" but yet the words that come out of my mouth are politically correct and I continue smiling. It just makes the day run smoother, plus there's the thing where I have to get along with people to avoid getting fired.
This takes a large amount of emotional energy and it gets on my nerves. I also find the push from management for us to all pretend that we are a "family" (yes, they have actually referred to us as a "family" in meetings), and for us to pretend that we really get a thrill out of doing our jobs and enjoy the forced camaraderie rather irritating.
It's all so fake, and I find myself both frustrated with it and laughing at it at times, but I guess that's what they pay us for. What's the point though? Can't we just do our jobs and skip the BS?
Try working in management and having to deal with folks, similar to the way you sound, that think they have some sort of free pass to act like jerks and complain about every little bitty thing that ruffles their feathers at work. You have it made. All you have to do is show up on time, act like you're doing your job, act like you're getting along with everybody, and you get paid. For those of us in leadership positions, we have to manage personalities, and we don't always have the freedom to fire those individuals if they get out of line. That's the type of BS your supervisors have to deal with. Pushing the family theme is all about getting people to work together and have a friendly, productive workplace. It's the adult thing to do. it allows your supervisors to do their jobs, which by the way, is much more than supervision.

You are paid to be there to smile all the times, no matter what. You are paid to be there to join the "family" in the corporate world to entertain each other. If you cannot do that, you will be cast out.
Learn to control your tongue and numb your brain if you see anything that you don't like. In this world there's nothing right or wrong anymore. Something you think is wrong in your mind, it may be right in the others; and vice versa.
If you don't feel happy, go to see your doctor to ask for some "happy pills".
I mostly have a little voice in my head saying"shat up abbot!" Or whatever strange saying my grandfather used to yell at people.
All said and done, defend yourself from bs aimed at you, but keep it moving if to someone else.
Workplace propaganda could usually be responded to with a dull straight face. Co workers ain't family, won't hear from them when fired,etc. You are a ss # ,the employer pays your Bills. Don't be a slave.
Always. That's because I'm cursed with a difficult personality, a sharp tongue, and a person who hates following rules and authority, so if I could sneer and jeer without getting in trouble, I would sneer and jeer at anyone and everyone who is rude to me, scolds me, corrects me, or implies that what I'm doing is WRONG. I find it extremely hurtful that you are stopping me from doing what I want to do.
