So you are actually getting the compensation owed you, but through a different agency? And you want to also collect this money directly from your current employer?

Why rock the boat? Sit back, shut up, and let it continue to play out as it is. You aren’t being harmed, but if it becomes evident that they have paid you erroneously they will l8keky demand the money back.

I am not in that industry but it seems to me that before you took the job you should have gotten in writing that your new employer would pay you the renewal checks. I would meet quietly with an attorney and see what your chances are to win the case then figure out where to go from there.
