Try being a management level person in your mid 50's and not able to get even a job interview. If not for my love, I'd be living under a bridge

Bartender & waiter are the traditional side gigs. But there are all sorts of jobs.

I'm really going through the most and everyday before pay day I lay in my bed and shed a tear, is it really worth it to continue with this job when I cant even afford to buy myself an ice cream on pay day let alone afford groceries and other expenses??? and no im not living above my means what I pay for rent is pretty average its just my salary is really low my friend advised me to bring this up with my boss and ask for a raise but I feel like I have no leg to stand on seeing as though im still in my probation period.

I'm not asking for sympathy I'm just hoping if someone out there has ever been in my shoes and if so how can I go about supplementing my income or getting through this.... love and positive energy are also welcome cause im really sad over all of this
I am sorry. I've been there. It is not easy. I do not know how I made it through but I did. You will too. Good luck!

Completely missed the part where OP is in South Africa.

In that case, they need to start making plans to move.

I worked three jobs to support myself and my kids, one full time job, two part-time jobs. 7 days a week, 14 hours per day. You do what you have to do...
