Ever been in that position and did it have an impact with your relationship with your co-workers and at work? How important is having "diversity" in the office to you?

I've frequently been the only white female around. That's been the case for the last decade or so as IT has been taken over by south Asian men.

It usually doesn't work out very well; they try anything and everything to push me out the door so my job can be given to one of their own.

That's for sure. I work in a small call center and am the only white female. The others there are black and a few Hispanics. They have cliques. But it's mostly female and maybe that's the problem. I'm not the typical female, as I am also childless. I also feel very uncomfortable there. I come to work, do my job. But someone always tries to start Mod cut. with me over something stupid. They're just so emotional and unprofessional. Most of the workers there also show signs of alcohol, drug use and mental health issues. There are no criminal background/drug testing done. No reference checks. So, no thank you. I will not be the only minority in my workplace. And no more call centers please. It's hell and attracts workers that other companies won't hire. I'm currently looking for a new job. I don't plan on giving notice once I get an offer.
