A good question would be is, are these health issues unusual for you, or are they always a factor in your day-to-day work life? If you have a union, it might be worth seeing if you have any protections there, or you can investigate the ADA accommodations that you might need.

Not looking good. All about first impressions, and regardless excess absences in only 3 months on the job doesn't give a good impression.

I'd start looking just in case.

First off, what's the policy on absenteeism? You have a communicable disease in the Covid era where people freak out if someone sneezes, so it's not like you're taking off to do a bar crawl.

You're going to get crap from the other custodians anyway just by dint of being the "New Guy". If it's not being sick it'll be the way you hold a broom.
