My husband has worked from home for 6 years now. While it can be lonely at times, the benefits definitely outweigh the drawbacks. I am a SAHM so we are together with the kids pretty much all the time.....which is nice for my husband because he gets to form a much closer bond with them than he would if he was gone all day. My husband also loves it that he doesn't have to sit in traffic for commutes. And it saves on gas money, too!

Default For BTA and his wife

Since we haven't moved yet (we move next week), unfortunately I can't tell you what I'll experience, but I share the same concerns as you. My plan is to find something to get involved with that gets me out of the house from time to time - others have had some great suggestions for this, and it could be a good way to meet people.

Maybe we should start a support group for other people like us
I love the idea of a support group!

Today was my first day working at home in VA (due to weather). I was actually quite productive... but I have a feeling it was due to the pressure of having a tight deadline on a project I'm working on. I'm still afraid of not being as productive on more "average" days... but like you I'm going to give it a try.

Post Take it

a lot of people like my self would love to work from home. Make it a point of duty to go out of the house for lunch every day and walk/drive to different places. Don't forget you have all weekend to explore
