Me too yellowsnow, me too (billionaire philantropist :-0)
That's why I've been in the Business section looking for wealthy parents to adopt me !! I need more MONEY to give away (running out of my own - LOL ) !
Hey and if Oprah or Bill and Melinda Gates are reading this forum , can I start out small by working for your foundations??? I've had a bit of practice .

But I want to have my own dog rescue OR be a stained glass artisan. Since I already have 6 rescued Rottweilers and a mutt, does that mean I've accomplished one of my dreams?
All things being equal, can I just read for a living?

Join my profession! But seriously, I only wish that's all a librarian did... we do a LOT of reading (especially as a youth librarian, which is my field), but there's much more to the job than that.
To answer the original question, obviously I'm a librarian, in teen/youth services for a large public system. I've only been in the profession for a short while, and so far have no plans to change careers... considering it took 7 years of college (5 in undergrad, 2 for the master's), I'd better not change my mind anytime soon! Luckily I'm loving it so far, and don't regret deciding on this profession.
But "on the side", I'm a classical violist, and would love being able to make a living at that. My DREAM job would be working as a studio musician, like recording movie soundtracks & so forth. I could do it if I really wanted, since I have plenty of connections in L.A. - but that would require moving to SoCal, which I just can't see myself doing. Anyway, who knows what the future will bring?
