I was just on another site and saw so many people are looking for work. They all had their own 'stories' of how they are doing.

Although it is depressing, it helped me realize it is not just me. It's just really hard to get anything now. A lot is luck, too. (say what you will).

Too educated, not educated enough, not working long enough, out of the work force too long...everyone has a story...

Yea, even private security companies aren't hiring. That used to be my backup job. I do event security part-time, but that's all it is, is part-time.

Not necessarily...one of the topics was unemployment and job seeking.

Government seems to be the only place hiring.... I work for a government contractor and we're getting a lot of work from the stimulus money.

When it rains it pours though.... I think a lot of places are under a hiring freeze right now. My dad left Chrysler in December under a buyout plan, and he was getting no calls for about 4 months. Now he has 1 offer and 2 pending offers... I think maybe things are just taking forever. You'll find something!

Thanks for the nice words, Tabbcat.

Sometimes it seems like forever. Maybe in life you are better to be a dumbass...they seem to get ahead over anyone intelligent. How many of us have worked at places where the goof off gets promoted or 'left to do whatever' while the few hard worker have to pick up the slack?

You wana be in construction. The unemployment rate is over 50% and that dont even count those who are not countable by how govt figures statistics.
