I like being whistled at. Especially at my age.
I think I want your job though. What is it you do?

Every three years I have to accumulate continuing education credits to keep my certification up to date and when I walk into a room theirs 400 white guys and 2 women.
Why is that?
What I do is perfect for women. It's a perfect job. 90% of the time it is in an office environment, it's a job where you are first hired and last fired, pay is at least $45,000 to $60,000 a year after five to six years and if you are the certificate holder nobody will ever mess with you.
Right now employment is at 100%.
If you have kids there's always freelance work you can do from a spare office in the house.
In 30 years I managed to get one lady through to certification about 8 years ago. She's a single mom, works out of her house and makes $40,000 to $60,000 a year while she's her own boss.
I'm a mental health therapist and when people find out what I do, I always get a nervous "So, can you really read people's minds?". Yeah, sure. And my other super power is flying.
I also get constant questions about why "so and so" does whatever bad thing he does (insert behavior here). When we had the shooting last week at LA Fitness here in Pittsburgh, I got asked about why the shooter would do something like that. Instead of explaining that I would have to have been the shooter's therapist to even have an inkling what his motivation was, I just make a few generalizations and let it go at that.
I really don't mind helping people who have questions about a friend or family member in trouble, but that usually just requires me to refer them to another therapist and maybe offer to listen if they need to talk, something anyone can do. No special degrees required!
