Does anyone know if it is to ones advantage to use the stores kiosk, or apply at home on line, (to have a better chance of getting a interview)? Thanks.

I don't see why it would matter unless the general manager walked by and was amazed at how well you were handling that kiosk keyboard and your dashing good looks.

If Wal-Mart, for example, or any other store actually collects information regarding the location you filled out your application it is probably to determine if the kiosk is worth the floor space it consumes in the store. If they determine not many people use the application kiosk the management would probably have it ripped out and put in a rack filled with some impulse-buy products like gum and bat-boy national enquirer rags.

Maybe someone that works at Wal-Mart's ISD or another company that has kiosks will put in their 2cents, but I seriously doubt the people in charge of hiring care or even know where you filled it out.

I might be mistaken, but I think both of those options will route your application to the same place so it probably wouldn't matter. It might be easier to type at your home PC than a kiosk though.

I have tried in store kiosk, on line applications from home and old fashion paper applications, all went nowhere.
But I guess that is just my bad luck!
GOOD LUCK TO YOU IN YOUR DAY TO DAY JOB SEARCH!

To apply here, you have to do it online, or here on one of the computers we have set up in the lobby.

While both get directed to the same place, I will say that, from my experience, that people are already getting an impression of you when you come in to do that. Ours are right outside of the HR office, and a lot of people walk by this area.

Some of the things noticed.
1. This person may not be the most computer savvy person, as they probably don't have a computer at home if they are stopping in. Also, if it is taking you a very long time, it may be noticed
2. How they come in.. (dressed decently, not saying interview attires, but not belly shirts, pants with a thong hanging out, etc)
3. If they bring someone... you won't believe how many people that apply here bring in a mom/dad/bf/gf/sugar daddy/etc.. Leave them in the car.

I would say you are better off just applying online.
