I've only had Comcast for about a month now, but I have no complaints about the service. I used to have Cablevision, and they were a nightmare.

60% of customer service stinks here in northeast pa-----if you get a pleasant response and/or information to your question you are doing well.Usual responses to questions here are---i don't know---only_____(fill in the blank) knows and they're not here today.this response is standard be it a bank,post office,small hardware store and so on! the response is usually terse and given with a face that belongs on someone sucking on a sour ball!

The phone reps, the managers, and the cable "techs" (if you call 2 sweaty Jamaicans in a beat-up truck hauling lawn equipment "techs") are all complete morons.

I would say just about any government run organization is gonna have issues.

AOL is probably the worse I have come across (hours, as in at least three hours per call, spent on the phone) with unemployment and DMV a close second.

All you mentioned are bad but how about the unemployment people? And any other customer service function that has been outsourced to someplace where they don't speak English. All they can do is read a script.

I will throw another cable provider under the bus here...Charter!

I've had Cablevision and Comcast and would prefer either over Charter.
