Is there anyway out of the UAW? or can you get your job classified out of the union? I see nothing but cronyism and nepotism in the union. Hard workers are too frequently overlooked for promotion. People's children and friends are given jobs or promotions in the Union over present Union members. YES, without a union this stuff may happen but then WHY have a union?

It's disheartening and one wonders why some members are more equal than other members of the union?

Is there anyway out?

Lol, I'm in the same boat. I have watched it for 18 years. It's corrupt and they try to justify the corruption.

There is no WAY OUT. Resignation is about it.

They setup a "blue collar" old boys network and the heads of that little group in each unions local will control who gets promoted.

I even tried call the regional office who said unless dues were being "messed" with they didn't get involved.

Kinda tell you about UAW's priority. THE UAW wants your Money/Dues.

Yes, in a pair of cement shoes courtesy of guy named Vinnie who has a thick Brooklyn accent.

Let's see, one post, this is your first one, newly registered - today as well, hmm I think it's safe to say the OP isn't "in" a union and doesn't even work for an automaker.

Then along comes the next poster, also a one time poster, newly registered - today in fact as well.

Lots of red flags on this one. Talk about stirring the pot just to get people riled up. Kinda sad actually.

Yeah, it's not possible that anyone could want out of the Glorious Union of Workers. The Motherland relies on it!

He's asking a question, I don't know the answer, but don't question the motives because you don't like the question.

Just look at the usernames (both ending in 45 at that? hmmm) and when they were registered. It's obvious. Heck maybe even it's you...

Oh boy, and Wheelsup registered in December 2008, the same month riots started in Greece. Does that mean that Wheelsup supports Greek Communists? I don't know, but the evidence points one way!
