Orcas Island off the coast of Washington State should be in the running. The cedar forests especially, need to be walked and hiked to be appreciated, and there are lakes for swimming and fishing. Beautiful views from a couple of mountains on the island. The beauty isn't spectacular, like some of the islands listed above; it's more of a quiet beauty that grows on you as you explore it.

Lots of beautiful places in those links! There's no denying the tropical islands are charming,
but for me, the most spectacular scenery of all is in the high-latitude places, like the Lofotens and Kerguelin.
That end-of-the-earth look is stunning!

I haven't seen South Island, NZ mentioned. Where are C-D's Kiwis? South Island's Milford Sound is a stunning hike, and there's lots more natural beauty all over the island.

Someone earlier mentioned Bowen Island, which I want to second. Bowen is at the mouth of the fjord that runs along the "coast" of West Vancouver, BC. It looks just like a Norwegian fjord, with a wall of mountains on both sides, north and south. Bowen island looks out at the fjord, with the north part of what us Yanks call Puget Sound behind it. It blew my mind when I discovered it online a few years ago. Who knew Vancouver had an f-ing Norwegian fjord in its backyard?! I mean, how do you even hide a thing like that?? Wow, just wow. Take a gander.

Bowen Island is in the foreground:

I never been to southeast Asia but from the pictures and videos I have seen the volcanic landscapes of Indonesia and the Phillippines look very beautiful.

Tropical islands: Kauai and Molokai

High-latitude islands: Lofoten Islands.
They're right alongside the Norwegian mainland
(most are connected by bridges), but they are islands.
