A group of friends and I were just having a fun discussion about wanting to live in so many places in the world, so I ask you this:
If you were very wealthy and had the chance to have a home in 4 cities, anywhere in the world, where would they be?
For me, it would probably be:
1) Miami
2) NYC
3) Cannes/St-Tropez
4) tough call between Florence, Barcelona, Beirut and Buenos Aires...
Should be fun to hear all the different answers and why!

I would live in these places:
1) I'd own a place in Seattle, a larger place overlooking Lake Washington from Mercer Island or Medina,
2) I'd also get a nice place in Chicago, to be closer to family.
3) I'd own a place somewhere winter doesn't make a big difference, like the south of Spain, or Greece (I'd bet land is cheap there now with their economy in shambles, though I'd want to keep my assets in Liechtenstein)
4) I'd own a place in Japan, as a springboard to more travel in Asia and to be closer to the in-laws

* a beach house in Bora-Bora (obviously for the sand and sea; another option is Barbados or Trinidad & Tobago )
* a villa in Spain or France
* an apartment in a high-rise condo in Tokyo or Seoul (when I want to go shopping and it would be near some of the beaches and islands around Asia)
* a mansion in Miami

An apartment in Stockholm and a nice cottage in a quiet place far away from everything.
And an apartment where ever my business is located.

I would buy somewhere in the world (not in Africa though, too dangerous) a gigantic property (millions of acres) and convert it in a natural park, a kind of Noah's Ark in order to preserve endangered animal (tiger, panda, rhino etc) and vegetal species, with 3/4 of the grounds an integral reservation where human presence would be prohibited, a bit like what Doug Tompkins has done in southern Chile (Pumalin Park)...
