A fellow by the name of Mongo on another forum compiled these lists of the top cities worldwide that currently have new skyscrapers under construction, beginning with buildings of 100 or more metres in height, followed by 150m, 200m, and then 250m. Note that these are buildings currently under construction and not buildings in total.
Buildings of 100m+ under construction. This list takes no account of how much over 100m in height the buildings are, 110m counts just as much as 510m.

not surprising to see bangkok that high. the place is exploding.
not good for me. way too much money flowing in there, driving up prices.
Bangkok is booming
I saw the devon tower being built in Oklahoma city when I was last in the US about six months ago. That city is doing great as well. I don't understand why its not on this list.
Mumbai is the only city that ranks in the top 5 in each category.
Abu Dhabi equals Dubai in the 250m+ list, both leading the world.
Panamá City is only two steps behind NYC in the 250m+ list. I knew Panamá had a boom, didn't know it was that strong, and this is a city of just over 1 million people!
Panamá City ranks 6th worldwide in the 200m+ list. Amazingly, its not only the leading Latin American city, but the leading city in all of the Americas in that category.
Manila leads the world in total skyscraper construction. I mean, who knew?!!

An incredibly robust condo boom with no end in sight, and several very tall hotel/condo projects such as Trump, Four Seasons and Shangrila. A few new office towers have recently gone up, and it seems very likely that there will be more to come.
