Actually even the areas of Canada that are not tundra including the Great Lakes and Saint Lawrence lowlands, large swaths of the Canadian Shield, Interior Plains, Appalachian Mounties and the Western Cordillera is a huge expanse of land and larger than most countries in the world.
As for Australia and deserts - well you said it lol and as you know that area is just as sparse and barren as the Canadian north. As a matter of fact, Canada is more urban than Australia. There are many more cities between 100K and 500K people and 90% of the 36 million people in Canada live within 200 miles of the U.S border.
The Urban thing isn't all a good thing... Partly why I want to go to Aus is because of it's ruralness, and the cities are first class to with great nightlife... Aus is basically a young adults/students playground! Also Aus has the most beauty of a coastline - most beautiful in the world! The desert also has some beauty as well... I'll upload some photos maybe tomz of how wonderful Aussie is!

I just wanted to be clear that most Canadians live in urban areas - certainly not rural tundra
Speaking of Coastline lol - Canada has the most coastline by far of any county in the world lol..Well both countries are very beautiful each in their own unique ways.. Aside from that, I won't interupt your love affair with Oz - it is a great country but no need for endless pics - Canada holds its own and then some in the natural beauty department

Which is why I would like to see Canada one day... In fact when I was younger I wanted to live in 3 places, Britain during our summer, somewhere mountains and snowy in Canada in December, and Aussie for the rest of the year... But I'm not yet a millionaire!
But no, Canada is also as beautiful in a different, chillier way. To your coastline comment, isn't most of Canada's coastline all iced up?

One thing I love to do is travel and what i've learned is to always keep an open mind when you do travel!
Canada actually has a highly varied togography.. There is even Badlands, small desert and wine growing regions in the country. As for iced up coastline - well depends on time of the year but unfortunately global warming is doing a number on Iced up coastlines and this is far from a good thing for the world!

Good point - Australia is closer to many Asian countries than Canada is. I'd say Canada is probably better positioned as a whole.. It borders the U.S and is closer to the Caribbean, Central and South America, Europe and Africa. Certainly the largest cities in Canada (Toronto and Montreal) are 'better' located than Sydney and Melbourne.. An hour/two hour flight from Toronto or Montreal will bring you to NYC, Philly, Boston, Chicago.. 3-4 hours and You have much of the continental U.S within reach plus many Carribean countries and Mexico.
When Chevy attempts to make a point, his really sharp stick has a less than 1 micron tip. LOL. Hope they peruse this thread.
I would hope, BruSan, that I don't attempt to make a point; rather, I make a point, period.
Grinning while I read your comment, I remain,
