In terms of:

landscape/geography/climate
nature (flora, fauna)
people
culture
urban areas
rural areas

I would pick Indonesia or Brazil but only for their sheer size and diversity. Both contain the most bio-diverse ecosystems in the planet (the Amazon and Asian rainforests).

I would exclude my own country, Australia, as half of it is technically not in the tropics. I'm counting countries that are mostly - as in 75-80% - between the Tropic of Cancer and Capricorn.

Can't believe I forgot the two obvious ones I included Brazil and Indonesia. Annoying how you can't edit polls.

You're also missing the big elephant in the room, called India.

My vote went for Thailand, but then I admit to being rather partial.

I just figured India was 1/2 outside the tropics like Australia so didn't include it.
