I would like to know where citizens around the world get their news from. I hope this can be a fruitful sharing of interesting, diverse news sources that show many sides of a story that we can all learn from.
Please refrain from posting very local news sources that discuss local events or bulletins. Please also refrain from insulting others due to their choice of information gathering.

Possible questions for thought:
  • Is it through the TV, radio, print, or internet? (or something else)
  • What websites, newspapers, or programs do you use to be current in global/national affairs? What is your opinion on them?
  • Do you trust these sources? Do you feel they are biased?
  • Why do you use these sources?
I make a habit of reading a variety of news sources, mostly from the internet or through my Android applications. On the internet, I regularly read Aljazeera and BBC. Personally, BBC has become too centered around American news, whereas Aljazeera is my new "standard". I occasionally watch ChinaForbiddenNews on Youtube. I have also discovered Radio Free Asia as an interesting news network, both on Youtube and online. For cultural interests, I enjoy ChinaSmack, KoreaBang, IndoBoom, RussiaSlam. Bizarre stories, regional opinions and netizen commentary are interesting. I have just discovered Information Clearing House, but it looks suspicious, I can't say I trust it as much as I do the first two I mentioned. I'd need more time to become familiar with it. I occasionally read Pravda, but do not trust it. It almost seems unreal, and silly. Seems to have a dubious record through my internet research. I also like NPR for its radio talk, interviews, and analyses. Edit: just wanted to add my Google application for weather/news delivers random sources as well, too many to name.

What do you use?

Interesting perspective, why do you feel like that? Do you gather news on the fly then?

Generally, I just use Google's News aggregator and go from there. I also read Chinasmack and its related sites as well as Shanghaiist and its related sites. Really, most news articles I read now are by way of other people posting them on social network feeds or postings from forums like this. I also occasionally pick up The New York Times.
