The majority of Jamaicans and other afro Caribbean groups are mixed to with European, Indian (from South Asia) and even the indigenous peoples like the caribs and the arawaks.
AAs are Africans I'm guessing AAs and Afro Caribbeans are as equally as mixed with an admixture of around 10 to 25%.

American blacks (they are not african, they are American), are a mixture of the different ethnic components of the US, while africans come in hundredths of different ethnicities and they are entirely from africa
american blacks speak english, are christian, live a western lifestyle and think like americans.... most africans dont!!!
We African Americans, Afro-Caribbean/Latino-Americans, Continental African-Americans(and what ever other American Blacks exist in this country) are NOT all christians.
Some of us do look different than Black Africans and some don't. Plenty of us have significant admixture depending on the region, and plenty don't. There have been plenty of eras in American history when Blacks mixed more with non-Blacks. It seems to me that we have moments in time where we mixed less then start up again, contributing to a continuation of admixture.
what is african anyway??? are you aware Africa is a MASSIVE CONTINENT almost 6 times the size of europe and the US and much more diverse than both???
there are almost 3000 different languages in Africa, more than 4 thousand ethnic groups, endless number of religions (so many anthropologists havent been able to count all of them)
it is so damn ignorant to think all of africa is just one thing, but stupid europe and the US are like this super diverse places, when in reality africa is FAR FAR MUCH MORE diverse than europe and the US
American blacks are NOT african, they might have some ancestors from the african slaves who were brought to the americas, but they also have other ancestors such as european in them.....
the REAL africans are way too diverse and unique to even be compared to any other people on this planet.
Sub-Saharan Africa is 3 times the size of the lower 48 states, so of course Africans will look different depending on what part of Africa you're talking about.
Most black Americans are descended from West Africans, with a bit of southern African.

Actually African American would be the best term to use in regards to acknowledging their ancestral identity. Black Americans are a mixture of different African ethnic groups. They are basically African mutts, so using the term African American would be very appropriate when it comes to their racial identity. Afro-Latinos are even more ethnically mixed when it comes to their African ancestry. Not only do many of them have ancestry from various ethnic groups in Western, Central, and Southern Africa but Northern Africa as well. This is mostly due to them having Spanish and Portuguese ancestry that traces back to the Moors. So Afro-Latinos are even more mixed with African ancestry than African Americans are.

Its not just African Americans that are "mixed" though Latinos and Afro Caribbean people too.
There's an ethnic group in Central America called "Garifuna" a mixture of Caribs and Africans.
Also the Mixed Indian/Africans of Guyana, Trinidad and other Caribbean islands. Called "dougla" in Trinidad.
Africans are a diverse people, yes but West-central African DNA and culture are installed in AFRICANS in the Americas.
AAs happen to be the least African in the Americas.
You guys need to watch the South Park episode about the Goobacks. the illegal immigrants from the future, they were a mix of all races and in their time period race and ethnicity was a non-issue.
maybe we are slowly becoming Goobacks.
this is the same episode that made fun of conservatives against illegal immigrants "they took our jobs!"
