okay, so in another thread people were comparing the mountains of the east (great smoky) compare to our rockies, now being from north carolina but living in new mexico most my life i am used to the rugged beauty and barren landscape of the west, people were saying how wimpy the apps were compared to the rockies so i compared them to the andes

The Andes, of course, but I have never felt deprived spending a day in the Rockies, or Sierra Nevada, or Cascades, or Smokies. Each has a flavor to be savored.
Once in my life, I would like to visit S. American, especially Patagonia. For now, I will suffer along well enough...
