I am not meaning to diminish the bravery and service of Canadians and Australians but you both are thousands of miles away and weren't being bombed from the air, but yes we probably couldn't have won the war without America thats a given but then America probably couldn't have defeated the nazi's without Britain. The US certainly was a decisive factor but could not have won alone. They took on most of the fighting in the Pacific but so did the British and Australians in Burma and navally. You could argue that without critical British knowledge passed to the Manhattan project, the US would have faced a crippling invasion of the Japanese mainland. Was the British blockading oil to Germany more important to their defeat than the battle of Kursk? was British intelligence more important than American boots? the only feasible answer is that it is impossible to tell what made the biggest contribution, all the countries mentioned contributed to defeating the nazi's.

Just a technicality, the Japanesse actually did bomb Northern Australia a number of times during WW2, they also invaded New Guinea which was an Australian Government Territory at the time.
AUSCANNZUKUS - We are all allies and there is a reason we are called the five eyes as we all watch each others backs and fight along side each other when s**t hits the fan.
We are all Brothers AND Sisters in Arms..and for the nations that want to bring harm to us Remember we are watching you...
One could say that the Americans were deep thinkers about joining in during WW1 and WW2.
Not joining the allies in 39/40 could have cost the USA dear if the Germans had invaded and taken over Britain.
The USA had this belief that all the Royal Navy ships would have escaped to Canada if Britain had been taken over.
All the Germans had to do was signal in clear that unless the ships surrendered in either Britain or Germany they would shoot the crews' families including parents.
The USA navy facing the combined British, French, Italian, Japanese would have been interesting.

I'm not a nation but I was planning to invade New Zealand with a few mercenaries.....something about being an Antipodean overlord appeals to me...but after reading your warning I'll think twice!
Damn, I forgot to add....Although I find Olivia Newton John and Kylie Minogue extremely attractive, Canadians are more attractive than Australians. Hands down!!
