look at a picture of jacksonville florida, and a picture of brisbane australia and you can hardly tell them apart
look at a picture of calgary canada and a picture of dallas and its like the same city
look at a picture of auckland NZ and a picture of portland oregon and is the same look
you could perfectly form a country with US, canada, australia and NZ (take away quebec of course) and you have a gigantic nation that is disturbingly similar!

Having friends and relatives in Quebec and having visited Quebec, I'm getting the impression that you actually haven't been.
Quebec is no more " sophisticated " than Ontario. Montreal may have a different flair, which I love, but I wouldn't say it's more sophisticated than Toronto.
Venture outside of Montreal and you will find just as many unsophisticated people as you would anywhere.
Your list is very prejudicial towards anglo's.
I hate to break your image of Quebec but Quebec is filled with big cars, big people, suburbs, shopping malls ( heck Montreal's underground city is one big shopping mall ), TV sports loving smokers.
I could take any city in the world and find another that has a similar look. Your methodology is faulty.
