OP probably doesn't look at city-data anymore, but I would just like to say that their best bet is to stay in the US.

Going anywhere else won't make it better. Going to Europe/Asia would make it worse. Going and living in Africa would be horrible (due to you having nothing in common with anyone there, not even a common language in most places)

Just know that you will encounter this in some shape or form most, if not all, places on Earth.
