I never said they don't need tourism, doesn't mean they need to like the people though!

Default Where are rudest people in world. Examples please!

I sail around the world and have a simple test

When I go for a walk, I say "Good Morning!"

I always say it friendly and cheerfull
as possibe and watch for a reaction.

New Yorkers my friends are a happy bunch!

Singapore is the worst of the worst.

Just a bit away in Malaysia people are
giving me a big friendly hello first.

I sail to the Philippines and am almost dragged
inside and offerred food and drink like I'm
some hero named Joe.

But Singapore...despite all the signs...
they rudely rush the subway train before I get off.

What do you find?

The rudest people can exist anywhere. The nicest people can also exist anywhere.

In general...

Friendly from my experience:

Thailand
Phillipines
USA
Canada
Australia
New Zealand
Germany

Rude from my experience:

Greece
Italy

There are friendly and rude people in every country, but these are the ones that I felt swayed higher or lower than average.

It is not the culture to be greeted or greet a stranger in those countries.
People may find it odd, strange or weird.
Some replied with "Do I know you?"
Most asian people are more shy than westeners, your behavior may have scared them.

I agree, there's something about certain East Europeans, they are very serious and seem to lack warmth. There are a significant number of Russians and East Europeans in the UK now, and I have to say to be honest I find some of them hard work.
