I would say we have more links with New york. If you look at heathrow airport you can see this:

1,2million flew from heathrow to ewr in 2011
Don't forget the Eurostar.
Now, most of the passengers traffic between London and Paris is made by the Eurostar.
The air traffic between both cities declined by 50%.
There are rivalries everywhere, especially when you get two cities of similar size in a geographical and cultural region that compete for dominance. Manchester and Liverpool are a perfect example of this, especially since the urban sprawl of both cities almost meet, and there are many towns in between that don't know where they belong, especially when you consider these towns have a blend of Liverpool and Manchester accents.. it's all very confusing.
It is in Europe, everything west of the Urals is Europe. It isn't the biggest city if you are counting metro population.
Its not in the EU so its not in Europe. I don't care what tectonic plate its on. Iceland is on North America and nobody says that it is in North America.
So which continent is Moscow in if it isn't in Europe or Asia?
If you are going by the geological definition of a continent, then Europe is just a part of Asia.
