If the original post was more specific and having at least a few more questions, maybe there would be more responses up to this time... What exactly are you looking for in a vacation?

The answer is either Greece or Turkey depending on someone’s personal preference in a vacation experience.

There is more intriguing, pleasant islands part of the country of Greece compared to Turkey, especially for islands such as Corfu, Mykonos, Crete, Rhodes, Hydra, Santorini. Naxos, Icaria, and Zakynthos.

Greece and Turkey both have an abundance of Mediterranean coastline beaches, and an interesting arrangement of some mountain ranges.

Turkey might appear more foreign/exotic compared to Greece. They both have a fascinating history and continue to have a unique culture. Turkey seems to be in a much better economic condition compared to Greece recently. However, this shouldn’t be too discouraging for visitors/tourists in Greece. Turkey’s heavily populated cities appear much more impressive, and offering more to people compared to Greek cities, especially Istanbul vs. Athens. The Grand Bazaars, architecture, and some dense neighborhoods give Istanbul more international prominence compared to Athens.

I've never been to either. I've never been big on international tourism. With globalisation the way it's going, you can't really experience a different culture anymore. People also go for the food and scenery but we have plenty of that domestically.

Turkey is much larger country and visited by much more people. Both countries, their food and culture are wonderful. I still prefer Turkey over Greece.

I've been to Greece and vacationed in Mykonos, Santorini, and ios. Also, I saw the cultural sights in Athens.
Honestly, Greece is so beautiful. You'll die and never wanna come back. I love it

I think Greece would be a much better place, but I haven't been to Turkey so, that's that.

This reminds me of when I was in college. There were two Greek women in front of me and one day the professor said:

"The Greeks and the Turks are the same people, they have the same culture, and eat the same thing. I know, I've been to both places and seen it."

Let just say that the two women looked at each other in disbelief and I'm sure that had their grades not been on the line, they would had cursed the living daylights of the professor. LOL

Bottom line, don't tell the Greeks and the Turks that they have more things in common than not. Just don't!

Trust me! LOL
