It strikes me by the way that in Europe, it's always the southern countries whose cooking is praised and recognized (also by me). I'd love to once try Scandinavian food, but there's just no Swedish/ Norvegian/ Danish restaurant I know of.

If you're in Belgium, then Denmark shouldn't be such a trek, right? Noma in Copenhagen has been rated the/one of the best restaurant in the world in the last several years and has its focus on nordic foods.
