Hmm. Los Angeles and Las Vegas are just as old but considered far more interesting by most people.

What does that have to do with Houston?

What are "most people" interested in?

I think London, Paris and Rome would have been very interesting when they were 150-200 years old!

By your logic then do you think that a dull city like Houston is going to be more interesting in 2000 years time?

True, you're right. Hell, most of the world thinks Sydney is the capital of Australia, not Canberra. I should have said, Canberra's the most boring major city I've been to (domestically).

Me the list of the cities I been to would be Adelaide, Newcastle, Geelong, Johor Bahru and Christchurch. Yet I visited Christchurch not so long ago and it was mostly destroyed by a Earthquake so that why it on the list.

How can an earthquake ravaged be boring? I'd describe it as tragic not boring!

Well I went there a year after the Earthquake. I stayed there longer than I intended and after the first day there I struggled what to do as there is a lack of places to go that have been repaired or not damaged.

I lived in Manhattan for forty years. Since its mass gentrification it has all the appearance and allure of an airport departure "lounge."

It is wretchedly plastic, but, truthfully, it does suit the era..

I think it's depressing to go to the world's most famous city and find nothing interesting or unique enough whilst there to even justify your trip. It may seem hypocritical of me to be complaining about this when I'm part of the problem, but the trip wasn't my idea. I really hope this isn't the future of the world's urban landscape, or the future is going to have very dull and homogeneous cities.
