Okay maybe I'll re-phrase that...I don't know you'd define 'closeness', but Australia seems the most similar to the US culturally after Canada. Much moreso than the UK. And politically we seem friendlier. Australia seems eager to participate in every war the US leads us into.
I second that...Israel is very friendly to Americans. It's sometimes called the 51st state of the U.S. Israel gets a boatload of U.S. aid every year, btw.
In Asia, I'd pick the Philippines. They've loved Obama AND George W. Bush Jr.
In Europe, the U.K.
South/Central America, maybe Panama?
Africa, don't know...anyone?

In Asia, I would add the younger generation in China (from personal experience) seem to be very friendly to Americans.

britain is americas closest ally but israel is their number one priority
i would say israel is the most enthusiastic about america of any country , doesnt matter what they do , uncle sam backs them unconditionally , america sat on the fence and refused to side with anyone during the falklands war in 82

What special relationship ? try joining the British military as an American and you will find Americans are known as revolting colonials and are not wanted, unlike Aussies,Canuks, Kiwis, who were loyal colonials.
