When I was about 6 or 7, I stayed over at an American schoolmates place. We had artichokes for a meal, dipping the leaves in some sort of butter sauce (yum). I thought that was what Americans ate a lot. When I told my grandmother, she said artichokes were pig food.
there is a place above america called canada. there they have what you call american food with canadian spices and food mixed in. it almost taste close to american food but its not. i miss american food.
I hate how all these canucks mix beavers and maple syrup into american food.
When I lived Europe for school (germany), I had saw so many "subway" restaurants and it was funny. When my professor saw a group of us eating there once, he said "you guys must have a taste for something that reminded you of home eh?". A little after that experience I had a dönner kebab and there was no going back.
