Why is that? And what does GDP (especially in dollars) has to do with personal incomes?

You may believe any stats you wish, but Russians are a lot richer than Estonians.

The average Russian (earning a median income) is a lot richer than the average Estonian. They are really poor among inhabitants of Europe - while Russians, as of 2012, are not.

Plus Estonian economy sucks totally. A good chunk of Estonians income comes from working abroad, in richer EU countries.

Average Estonian earns more in an average year than the average Russian.. sorry, but you cannot say something isn't true just because you don't like it.

More of what? Euros? And how did you manage to figure that out - from the GDP per capita?

The difference in median incomes, adjusted for cost of living, is 3-4 times - in Russian favor.

If you decide to continue this discussion - please post some income numbers first.

As the thread continues I'd only like to remind everybody that this is not a "Russia vs the world" thread, so please don't turn it into one.
Yac.

Not GDP per capita, but this. There isn't much difference between the two, but Estonia still pips Russia. Who needs governments to roll out propaganda when the people do it themselves.

1. PPP is useless to compare significantly different economies - or anything at all.
2. This is not income, but pretax wages.
3. Official wage stats in some countries are much lower than real wages.

The average aftertax income in Estonia is about 600 euros, the median is about 400 euros. Utilities cost 150-200 euros. Everything else is not cheap either.

In euros, Russians earn twice more, and spend much less on basic necessities.

It's adjusted to reflect the cost of living which shows that the average Estonian earns more than the average Russian, pretax or not. I think you have a very misguided view of Russia and everything not Russian or aligned with Russia (such as the European Union, and the Baltic states). I knew Russians were gullible, but this is ridiculous.
