This is a pretty cool site for measuring walkability.

My place gets a 94, which is very walkable. It's 6km west of Melbourne, which is the inner suburbs, and just 300m walk from literally over a hundred restaurants, as well as markets, shops, services.etc. It's about 500m walk from the train line and tram line that goes into the city. It's a very ethnic area, most of the signs are Vietnamese etc.

(give a brief description of your area)

Mine gets a 7 completely car dependent suburb in a small city all I can see is single family homes with landscaping and sidewalks very few people park their cars on the street, I occasionally see a few people sporadically walking, running or walking their dogs. It takes about a 5-10 minute drive to reach most of my stomping grounds.

Nearest places

McDonalds 0.7 miles
Coffee 1.2 miles
Groceries 0.8 miles
Parks 0.4 miles
School 0.1 mile
Shopping 1.3 miles
Entertainment 1.6 miles
Pharmacy 0.7 miles
Bars 1.9 miles

Miamians are born with a vehicle attached to their bodies. You cannot survive without a car.

Most avenues and streets do not even have sidewalks.

I think the Netherlands is the only country in the world where pedestrians and bicycles have more power than cars.
