I guess that answers my question.

Funnily enough I never considered I was even doing anything illegal when I went to parties and drank alcohol when I was under 18. There were no parents, but people over 18, present. I guess it's so ubiquitous the cops don't really do anything about it.

I can't imagine the police being too bothered or bothered at all about under 18's drinking unless they are 11 or something.

The police should bother, our drinking culture is gonna kill half my generation where I live before they are 50. An average weekend for 16 - mid 20s where I live consists of drinking a bottle of vodka, a 12 pack and a few litres of cider, weekly for over a decade thats gonna do serious damage in terms of heath, crime, employment and for future generations. Drinks the UKs biggest problem never mind drugs.

I agree, binge drinking is ingrained in the culture of the UK and Australia. I always thought the habit of getting smashed every weekend was pretty stupid, and I never fell into it just to fit in. Well, maybe a few times, but I never really got why people enjoyed it so much. Being drunk is honestly not all that great and not worth that .

I don't mind a drink, its that it is seen as normal. People drink Friday and Saturday, and Wednesday for student night. It is the quantify of drink that the youth drink. A bottle of vodka BEFORE you go out is crazy but that is what my friends do, each that is, a 70cl bottle each to "start the night off"

I guess you could say drinking is the new smoking.
Life sure is boring.

Many Norwegians consume their cannabis on holiday in Denmark. That way it doesn't count. ;-)

Actually, in Central Canada (Ontario + Quebec) people often mix with tobacco as well, although smoking neat is also common. In Western Canada mixing with tobacco is unheard of. Not sure about Atlantic Canada. In Honduras they mix the marijuana with a kind of spider web.

Mixing it with tobacco makes it roll and smoke easier. You also only need to light it once with tobacco lol.

The local police are pretty strict about enforcing under-18 and even under-21 drinking. Almost every adult will tell you stories of their drinking parties getting broken up, and I know several 20-year-olds who have gotten tickets for alcohol consumption.
