Here's one that I bet hasn't been posted.

Pico Duarte in Dominican Republic (10164 ft - 3098m) and Pico Turquino in Cuba (6476ft - 1974m) are higher than anything in central or eastern United States (East of the Rocky mountains)

Along the same lines: each of the 4 Mexican states bordering Texas has a higher point than Texas does.

Only five Mexican states (of 32) do NOT have a peak higher than the highest point in Texas.

Mexico is a gorgeous country. I saw a documentary ones where they said that they have canyons that are bigger than the Grand Canyon in the US. Forget their name, though

Highest capital in the World - La Paz, Bolivia (3650mts - 11942 ft)

South American qualifiers, each team has to play at least one game there

How many of those cities are in DF, and are "cities" only as administrative entities, but are otherwise just Mexico City sprawl?
