Some of countries that have international borders which each other but are otherwise very different to each other (by the usual parameters, largely socio-culturally).

Some of the ones which stand out for me include:

China and India

China and Pakistan

China and Russia

India and Myanmar

Bangladesh and Myanmar

Russia and North Korea

Russia and Mongolia

France and Germany

Italy and Austria

Germany and Poland

Bulgaria and Greece

Israel and Egypt

Senegal and Mali

Kenya and Uganda

United States and Mexico (although the border states are more Mexican-influenced)

Argentina and Bolivia

Armedia and Turkey
Greece and Albania
Serbia and Albania
Turkey and Greece

The OP put Bulgaria and Greece in the first list but the differences of Greece and Turkey, Greece and Albania is greater than Greece and Bulgaria.

Despite sharing a language and a history, North and South Korea have pretty stark differences.

Haiti and the Dominican Republic

Switzlerand and Italy is the first one that comes to mind. They are like night and day opposites.
