MacDonald's in Moscow, at least in the 90's, was the most popular place in town, had lines out the door and down the block. Because it was cheap, affordable meat. We may not think much of their "meat", but in Russia it was a phenom. The interior of the KFC in Baku reflects the attempt to present this junk as a foreign "prestige" item. But I wonder, is there an American presence in Baku? Oil pipleine-related, or something?
