Tough call, I love both countries. I'd say France, because I saw the dirt-road back country in the old China, and I don't think I'd like what it is turning into.

Portland Maine or Portland Oregon?

Norilsk, but only because at this point in time, I'd rather see what Russia is like.

Wales, or New South Wales?
I've been to NSW, of course, but not Wales, but NSW has way more to offer.

Borneo or Sumatra?

Borneo or Sumatra?
Malaysian Borneo is pleasant to visit, with lush nature. The Indonesian part is wilder. However I prefer more exotic locales, and I have to go for Sumatra - and they have amazing nature and cultures there, as well as volcanoes! My fave.

Provence, France or Tuscany, Italy?

Provence, France or Tuscany, Italy?
Provence and Tuscany are both pleasant, exciting, culturally rich, and inviting regions to get to know and experience. However, I choose Provence/Southeastern France easily without hesitation.

Next: Buenos Aires Argentina OR Madrid Spain?

Tyrol State of Austria OR Trentino-Alto Adige Region of Italy?

Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Already been to Spain and I'd love to visit South America for once (only continent I havn't yet been).
Also heard a lot of good things about BA, as well as some negatives. It would be surpise, and if that surprise would be a good one or a bad one remains unknown. If I knew, that would spoil the surprise!

Question to the next fellow:

Malmö, Sweden or G'dansk, Poland?

If I were single, I'd choose Malmö for those gorgeous Swedish women. But now that I am happily married, I'd have to say Poland. I love Polish food and beer, so that's an added bonus. I think that Poland would be a very interesting place to visit, actually.

For the next person: Hong Kong or Tokyo?

Both sound awesome, but I'll go with Tokyo since I love Japanese culture.

Miami or Ibiza
