Most argentinians either dont care about those islands or want them to be brittish. This has been utilized politically since FOREVER (not only by Kirchner) and now is the moment in where people care less about the island. So, yeah, ITS NOT THE PEOPLE, its the goverment.

Pope Francis is from Argentina and a very known enemy of the Kirchners. The democracy in Argentina (and most of Latin America) is weak since the times of Perón. As a latin american, I hope Pope Francis will be for Argentina like John Paul II for Poland. We have in front of the opportunity to wipe out the populism in Latin America.

About the problem with the Falklands, a good solution would be dividing the island. Half of the island for Argentina and another for Britain. Why not?

Argentina has no legitimate claim over the islands whatsoever. The people are British, simple as that. The history of how that happened is completely irrelevant. The Falkland Islands are British, and the UK has every right to defend its control of the islands.
