Most argentinians either dont care about those islands or want them to be brittish. This has been utilized politically since FOREVER (not only by Kirchner) and now is the moment in where people care less about the island. So, yeah, ITS NOT THE PEOPLE, its the goverment.

how do you feel about an argentine having been elected pope ?
Falklanders are Britishers. What's the f-ing difference? What was this vote supposed to prove? That British ppl in the Falklands will choose to stay with Britain? Big f-ing surprise!
Pope Francis is from Argentina and a very known enemy of the Kirchners. The democracy in Argentina (and most of Latin America) is weak since the times of Perón. As a latin american, I hope Pope Francis will be for Argentina like John Paul II for Poland. We have in front of the opportunity to wipe out the populism in Latin America.

Argentina has no legitimate claim over the islands whatsoever. The people are British, simple as that. The history of how that happened is completely irrelevant. The Falkland Islands are British, and the UK has every right to defend its control of the islands.
About the problem with the Falklands, a good solution would be dividing the island. Half of the island for Argentina and another for Britain. Why not?
yeah because it worked so well when the british done that in ireland or india
