I guess it depends how you define "Islamic", Bosnia is a good example. It's 50% Muslim, is that "Islamic"?
It guess it sort of depends where you are in Bosnia. If you don't count the Republika Srpska, the Bosniak Muslims make up a good majority of the country until you get to the areas in the west with a lot of Croatians--and if you go to Sarajevo--it's mostly Muslim at this point(it was actually more diverse before the war and the ethnic movement around the country). Sarajevo was interesting though, because I was there at the end of Ramadan--and while there were some people observing it during my stay--plenty of other people--nominally Muslim in religion--were out drinking. It's sort of why it's sort of silly to assume that any culture with Muslims is the same simply because of the religion.
Another one is Lebanon--which is over 40 percent Christian--and if I travelled there most likely I'd be spending my time in a lot of the more Christian areas around Beirut. However, I put Lebanon and Bosnia both on my lists--as ones a place I'd like to travel to--and the other is a country I have a fondness for...
Is Israel classified as an Islamic country? Within the boundaries of sovereign territory claimed by Israel, Islam is practiced by more people than any other faith.
To live in, in principle, 1) Lebanon and 2) Syria, then also 3) Israel/Palestine in the sense of the eastern Mediterranean in general, and then 4) Turkey, and 5) Cyprus (some 23% Muslim?).
Visit, in principle, 1) Egypt and 2) Libya. What about 3) Ethiopia (34% Muslim according to 2007 national census)?
That's about it, maybe Tunisia (4) and Algeria (5).
In practice, none of them to live in or visit, except maybe visit again Turkey.
