I've been a geography nerd for as long as I can remember. I could probably identify most countries by name by about 8-9. Mostly from my little LeapPad I had as a kid.
From age 5 to 13 I attended a French school, and they take geography very seriously -- especially where former French colonies are concerned. So by the time I was 10 or 11 I could name every country in the world and its capital, neighbors, etc.

I still get confused with the West and Central African Countries, and the Former members of the USSR, I could name most of them and approx where they are, but would possibly get Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan mixed up etc.
