Toronto's numbers only add up to 84.4%, what about the other 15.6%?

Let me first state that posts like these are truly meaningless, however:

Well, in the western world, half black is still black???
Obama is usually considered black.
Half black is half black...and, more correctly, what is black? Do you mean African? Caribbean? Panamanian? Some Cubans? Trinidadian? This is the problem with categorizing "races" that don't exist. Ethnicities exist.

Obama self identifies as black, for in America, he is forced to do so. This doesn't change his ethnic make-up. He is mixed, multi-ethnic.

Thank you! Most "developed" countries don't buy into this on "official" forms, etc. Socially they may, but no where near what the U.S. does.

Data source please? What's with the Affirmative Action comment? Many mixed individuals are not merely black and white. They marry whom they choose, many to non-blacks as well.

If people continue to talk about skin color, that means there is something wrong. How is this thread enlightening anyone? What is/was your purpose in starting it?

The census form is self-reporting. It has a box defined as "Hispanic, Latino or Spanish origin". So someone of descent from Spain

Most Hispanics aren't Mexican in the Northeast. And many New England cities have a large Brazilian population. Who sometimes check Hispanic, creating confusion.

Filipino, and Latin American are the next largest groups, in order. The remaining 10% are mostly a mix of people from different parts of Asia.

These numbers are from the 2006 census. I'm sure things have changed in 7 years.
