I live in NYC, obviously I come in contact with a lot of people from all over the place. Accents and clothing aside, it is hard to tell who is from where. Also, most Europeans who were from there originally but now live here, dress more like Americans, so they blend in. Hard to tell a lot of time with just clothes and facial features. I think the biggest difference and the deadringer for who is foregn and who isn't is their mannerisms.
I think those differences might become even MORE apparent if you lined up the two groups naked lol.

over the centuries, the shining light of divine countenance has significantly altered the Americans' appearance while providing a heavenly glow even in the darkest of hours...that's probably what you are noticing.

White Americans are from the United States, a country that is not in Europe.

To me British people dont have a 'look' they are a pretty mixed bunch and one Britain can look VERY different to another. Perhaps the clothes people wear and their 'mannerisms' is what you subconsiously notice as a difference?

white Americans are mostly a coktail from a few northern European countries: England, Ireland, Germany, Scotland, Scandinavians and some Northern Slavic. to which we can add Italians (who almsot form a sub-category among White Americans). That "cocktail" is unique and does not exist that way in Europe. That said, in France, I usually confuse American toursists with Germans or British ones. Their looks are not drastically different to me.

For me, I found Bill Clinton to have a quintessentially white American look.

I'd say up to 65% of white americans have their main ancestry from either the UK or Ireland, which from the start makes themselves quite different from continental europeans.

You might not accepting and tell us that Britain is "so mixed" (we know that!) with the whole world endlessly... But yes, there is a look that is specifically British. It is not because many people do not fit in it that this look do not exist. "Looks" are not a question of how each individual look (obviously people don't look the same way) but of the general impression that a groups of people made. "looks" are a question of statistics. I can spot a group of British tourists at 1km... if in a group of say 6 persons, only 1 or 2 have that typical British look, that is enough to know that they are not from France, since this look does not even exist here.

And your right, the clothes weared in Britain are also usually very different to those in France.

What is the typical British looks to me:

Etc...

To me all these poeople have quintessentially British looks. Please don't tell us again that your kids are "black" (or half "black" maybe) or that neighbours are Pakistanese looking British people; we already know prefectly that Britain has, like most other western European countries lot of people with origins from non-European immigration.

Thats what I said but was quickly beaten down.
