I understand that. But the populations of people who live in low-income areas, ghettos and such are quite separate from and have practically no effect on the lives of the mainstream society. That's why I think it's misleading to compare statistics between the U.S. and European countries. Better to compare middle-class Americans to middle-class Europeans. Low-income Americans to low-income Europeans...That sort of thing.

Well here on the world forum we'll probably end up comparing low-income Americans to high-income Europeans.
