This topic has been beaten to death more times than Mickey Rourke's face on this forum......

Didn't take very long at all for (some of) the Americans and (some of) the Europeans to be at each other's throats again either lol. When will you people learn that it's all down to personal preference. Honestly, don't get so uptight and worked up about stuff like this. It's not worth the anxiety or the aging/wrinkles

I prefer to live in the United States, but only on the east coast - particularly New York City/New Jersey and Washington, D.C./Maryland/Northern Virginia.

If I lived in Europe, I would only choose to live in London or Paris, maybe Berlin. Everywhere else is for vacationing.

The EU is nothing like the USA.

It's really hilarious for posters here to compare (and show pictures of) the most dazzling "theme park" photos of Europe and say, "This is Europe." Yet they don't acknowledge that the US is a country of 315 million people with quite a lot of beautiful cities, stunning countryside, polite people and (along with Australia) the best food in the English-speaking world. I have met many Europeans who would move to New York or San Francisco tomorrow if they could find a decent job (and legal residency). They'd leave Paris, Rome, London and Prague in a heartbeat.

Life expectancy is lower in the US, but it is still about the same as Denmark and Portugal (not third-world countries in the least) and far ahead of the eastern European Union, Russia and Ukraine. America's Human Development Index, a quality-of-life index from the UN, is no. 3 in the world; after adjustment for inequalities the US falls to no. 16 -- still two places before France (no. 18), and the French love to brag about their superior quality of life. Yes, Europe is great. But so is the USA, a young country when you compare France's and Italy's and Britain's 1,000-year histories. We do very well for 400.

Thank You very much!

Maybe some Europeans will keep their eyes more open

I grew up mostly in India, but in the USA too. I've visited Europe a few times. To me the best choice would be to have Europe just a day trip in my car away. But I live in Oregon and I can't. So I would choose Europe, because I can see many countries in a road trip!
