It Leeds, it varies. In the city centre, clothing stores are open from 9am to 8pm. Supermarkets open earlier - usually around 8am until 10pm - with some open 24 hours. Fast food restaurants usually open around 5am and close at 1am.
Retailers (large and small) generally open between 8 and 10 a.m. on weekdays and Saturdays. Some small businesses are closed on Saturday and more on Sunday; larger and chain stores are open on Sundays for reduced hours unless the owner's religious views are in conflict (e.g. Hobby Lobby).
Some small, local places close at 5 pm, but most nationally-known stores are open until between 7 p.m. and 9-10 p.m. on the weekdays, perhaps closing an hour earlier on Saturdays and generally at around 5 - 8 p.m. on Sundays.
Walmart is open 24/7, as are a few gas stations and convenience store / pharmacies.
The supermarkets I'm most familiar with close at around midnight.
Typically, what are the store and mall hours in your country? Please tell us the country too.
I know it could vary, but in general.
In the United States:
Monday - Saturday: 10 am to 7 - 9.30 pm
Sundays: 11 am or 12 pm to 5 - 7 pm (or closed)
(Bergen County, NJ has blue laws which requires most retail stores including all malls to be closed on Sundays)
Grocery stores: 8 am - 10 pm
There are few 24/7 stores as well, mainly drug/convience stores especially in larger cities.
In my area most supermarkets close at 9 PM on weeknights.
