I'll go first:

At this precise moment I am 1027 feet / 313 m from San Francisco Bay.

My home is 3.07 miles / 4.94 km from the Bay.

Next!

(You can use the distance measurement tool in Google Maps - click "Maps Labs" to enable the tool.)

I am 3.01 miles / 4.84km from San Francisco Bay (I'm over in the East Bay though). Funny that.

The Sea of Azov is an inlet of an inlet of an inlet (Azov > Black Sea > Mediterranean).

Plus the Aegean Sea if you count that as an inlet.

22km to the Atlantic ocean. I like to have the sea close enough to easily visit but not too close in case of flooding.

To the ocean: About 50 miles (80 km) is the closest I got from here to the bay. If I draw a line to the ocean from me directly east, it's actually further because of the southwestern orientation of the NJ peninsula. So southeast is the shortest distance to the shore. And 50 miles seems to be about the closest I can get, picking points along the coast of the bay.

The Delaware Bay would actually be closer, but I wasn't sure what the best point to pick would be in its transition from fresh water upstream to salt water. So I consulted Google can come up with this, referring to a "salt line" that I believe would be applicable for the purpose of this thread.

Delaware River Basin Commission|Salt Line

It's not a fixed location, but an average. The location of the Delaware Memorial Bridge is approximately both the average location of the salt line for this month and the last recorded location. In that case I am 10 miles (16 km) from salt water.
