Well,if we do think being anti muslim is racist,then I'm going to have to go with Saudi Arabia as being the most racist,as you can't be a Christian there.

Ok but it is also easy to cherry pick some sensationalistic stories and come to the conclusion that the vast majority of the British are racist.

However, a more serious flaw could be the fact that in most Western countries racism is so taboo than many people will hide their intolerant views and lie to the questioners.
Max Fisher of the Washington Post suggested that maybe 'Americans are conditioned by their education and media to keep these sorts of racial preferences private, i.e. to lie about them on surveys, in a way that Indians might not be'.

I might add that although it is true that white folks don't want to move to inner city black neighborhoods, white folks (as you refer to them) also do not want to move to inner city AND poor white neighborhoods either, it's just common sense.
An unfortunately (perhaps and then again...maybe not) is most people prefer to live with their own and this means socioeconomically, racially, ethnically, and whatever lly one may think of or come up with, yes...sad but true!

My cousins in London (Asian-Brits)- well-assimilated to the local culture- have plenty of stories to tell about rocks being hurled at them..blatantly racist remarks told to their face..etc etc
This type of racially-driven (mis)behavior is VERY rare in America- YES even Texas which is a very diverse and relatively hospitable state. It seems somewhat more likely to occur in England or Australia. Random attacks based on race from strangers just hanging around the corner. |
